Precision support for sugar cane harvesting

Together with Volvo Trucks Brazil, CPAC Systems developed driver assistance technology for the Brazilian sugar cane industry.

In traditional harvesting, a truck must follow the harvester at the correct speed and position while staying within the right wheel track. Small deviations can damage the sugar cane root system and reduce future harvest output.

The solution used GPS guidance and gyro technology to help the truck maintain its planned route with high precision. By supporting the driver with accurate vehicle positioning, the system helped streamline harvesting, reduce crop damage, improve the work environment and increase operational efficiency.
