System engineer

Working as a system engineer at CPAC you are a central node in any project. Holding the primary responsibility for the technical solution, you will have a large impact on the success or failure of the project you are working on. If you are a person with a broad understanding of technology, an ability to communicate complex subjects in an easy way and if you dare to dive into details while never losing sight of the big picture, then we would like to talk to you.

Responsibilities

Your primary responsibility will be to manage requirements from initial analysis to final validation and to design, document and integrate embedded systems based on these. Working with safety critical systems, you will ensure that the final solution is robust enough to operate as intended without hazard to the operator or the surroundings. Collaboration within and outside the project team will also be essential to generate ideas and to deliver the right products on time and you will play a large role here.

Required skills

We recruit for attitude and train for skills and this is particularly true for a system engineer. To thrive in your role at CPAC we believe you need to be able to meet three primary attributes: 1) To be a practical theorist, i.e. to have good theoretical and structural skills and a keen holistic eye but not be afraid to hands-on dive into details when required. 2) To be able to grasp and analyze complex problems and then make them easy to understand for both customers, team members and management. 3) To be a prestige-less team player that knows when to ask for help from other experienced colleagues to find the best solution for any given situation.

With system engineer being a senior position you already have a few years of work experience where you’ve obtained a firm technical knowledge including areas such as diagnosis, software download, embedded system architecture and safety critical systems development. You also know quite a bit about requirement management, documentation of embedded systems and testing. Your educational background is most likely a Master or Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science or similar.

If you do not have all prereqs in place, please convince us about your potential to acquire the skills and be prepared to back up your statements with previous achievements.

Desired skills

We use a lot of familiar tools, standards and techniques such as MS Office, Enterprise Architect, Simulink, Targetlink, Mathlab, ISO 61508/15998/26262, SPICE and AUTOSAR. Knowledge in these is an advantage but if you’re a system engineer and smart, we expect you to be able to learn new work methods, standards and technologies.

Other meriting areas are experience of MBD (Model Based Development), knowledge of hardware and software architecture for embedded systems and knowledge of communication protocols such as, all OSI-layers for CAN, SAE J1587, SAE J1939, ISO14229/15765 and Volcano.
